Extra stability with hinged splints
Bauerfeind GenuTrain S is a medical support brace with hinged splints on the sides that provide better stabilization of the knee joint. According to the instructions for use, it is used for mild to moderate joint instability, knee osteoarthritis, and arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Hinged splints, straps, and pad
The splints on both sides of the knee guide the joint along its proper axis of movement and provide extra protection against unwanted movements. The straps around the thigh and lower leg provide a firm and secure fit, while a soft silicone pad surrounds the kneecap and holds it in place.
With every movement, the soft Train knit provides medically effective compression and alternating compression massage, according to Bauerfeind. This activates the leg muscles and helps the knee quickly regain stability.
Materials and adjustment
The three-dimensional knit is breathable and gentle on the skin, with lower pressure at the edges. According to the instructions for use, trained professionals can adjust the support to the body afterward if necessary.
Material composition according to the manufacturer: polyamide (PA), glass fiber (GF), thermoplastic elastomer (TPS-SEBS), elastodiene (ED), polyurethane (PUR), elastane (EL), viscose (CV), polyoxymethylene (POM), cotton (CO), polyester (PES), and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).

Use
Loosen all four ends of the hook-and-loop straps without pulling them out of the openings. Hold the donning loops on the sides and pull the support over your knee until the ring-shaped pad surrounds the kneecap without pressure - the hook-and-loop ends of the straps will then be on the outside of the leg. Pull the straps until the stabilization feels comfortable and fasten all four ends. To remove the support, open the straps, grasp the support at the calf, and pull it downward.
Care
Remove the hook-and-loop straps and close their fasteners. Pull the joint splints upward out of the splint channels - the splints can be wiped with a damp cloth, but do not remove the white joint covers around the joints. Wash the support separately in a laundry bag at 30 °C. Never expose the support to direct heat, such as radiators, sunlight, or storage in a car.
